It is with great sadness that we say good bye to our long-time friend, Derek Harrington. Jimmy performed with Derek on and off for close to 40 years. Derek died at the too-young age of 66 years old at his adopted home of St. John’s Newfoundland on 22 February, leaving behind a legacy of music that will live on long into the future. In the words of Hamlet:
“He was a man. Take him for all in all.
I shall not look upon his like again.”
(Act 1, Scene 2)

Sad news about Derek. A good man. A big loss to the Irish music scene. He will be missed as we remember the old times.
Condolences to his family, & friends in the music scene.
